Twenty-seven countries, including the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, have jointly urged Israel to grant “immediate independent foreign media access” to the Gaza Strip.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the member nations of the Media Freedom Coalition emphasized the vital role of journalists in conflict zones.
“Journalists and media workers play an essential role in putting the spotlight on the devastating reality of war,” the coalition said in the joint statement.
Gaza has remained largely inaccessible to international media since the escalation of the conflict, raising global concerns about transparency and accountability.
