Senior leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal has urged all political parties to take economic and social reforms seriously to steer the country toward lasting prosperity.
Speaking at an artist recognition program organized by Global Star on Saturday, Khanal stressed the urgent need for a comprehensive national plan that utilizes Nepal’s abundant natural resources - including agriculture, minerals, and water - to drive economic growth.
"Without a concrete strategy to harness our domestic resources, economic prosperity will remain out of reach," Khanal said.
He also emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship and youth empowerment as essential components of national development. Encouraging innovation and self-reliance among the younger generation, he noted, would contribute significantly to a more prosperous Nepal.
Addressing cultural matters, Khanal praised the global appeal of Nepali art and highlighted the importance of preserving the country's diverse languages, literature, and cultural heritage. He called for efforts to maintain the identity of all castes and communities, especially among the Nepali diaspora.
