Legendary mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa has once again made history by successfully summiting Mount Everest for the 31st time, breaking his world record.
The 55-year-old climber from Thame village in Solukhumbu reached the summit of the world’s highest peak at 4:00 AM on Monday, according to officials. This latest ascent further cements his status as the most accomplished Everest climber in history.
Last year, Kami Rita made headlines by scaling Everest twice in a single season-his 29th and 30th successful ascents. His extraordinary achievements have made him a symbol of perseverance and endurance in the world of mountaineering.
According to Nepal’s Department of Tourism, the spring climbing season has officially concluded as of today. Approximately 500 climbers reached the summit during this season, despite challenges posed by weather and altitude.
Kami Rita has long served as a senior climbing guide and is widely respected for his decades of experience leading expeditions on Everest and other Himalayan peaks.
